Multidisciplinary artist, Caroline Roche trained from a young age in classical ballet, modern jazz, Russian character dance, and traditional dances from the Auvergne region. She completed a comprehensive musical education at the Montluçon Conservatory over nearly twelve years, studying piano and harpsichord. She went on to study literature in preparatory literary classes and at Sorbonne Nouvelle University, drama at the Lyon Conservatory of Dramatic Arts, and contemporary dance at Le Cycle Choreographic Centre in Lyon, the Clermont-Ferrand Conservatory, and the Higher School of Arts of Lorraine, where she obtained her State Diploma in Contemporary Dance in 2021.

Since then, she has regularly taught classes and led workshops. Driven by a strong desire to create, she joined the Master’s programme in Dance and Choreographic Practices at Charleroi Danse / INSAS / La Cambre in Brussels in 2022, graduating in 2024. During this time, she notably met Ayelen Parolin and the artist Nora Chipaumire, whom she joined in Zimbabwe for the inauguration of the NhereraHub. There, she also had the opportunity to meet the dancers of the Dance Trust of Zimbabwe, Harare’s national ballet company. She was selected for Création en cours #9 at Ateliers Médicis alongside Neptune, developing a co-creation project centred on the ball with children, questioning and overturning traditional adult-child modes of transmission. Together they created the duet À travers chant. She performed in BRÛLER by Jorge Léon, collaborated with poet Laurence Vieille and Absolu Théâtre on works combining poetry, dance and music, and works with the Occitan polyphonic duo COCANHA, for whom she choreographs and performs.

In 2024, she began developing a choreographic trilogy inspired by Northern Occitan culture entitled ARS’VOLCANA – La Volcane brûlée. Her research explores the relationship between musical gesture and choreographic gesture, investigating how, when produced live, they collide and merge. She created Anon jogar ina bourreira (2025), a cabrette-and-dance duet with her father Jean-François Roche, and is currently developing Borrei’Loop, the trilogy’s second chapter. Her work has been presented at the It Takes a City Festival, Europalia España, and Pays de Danse.
