À travers chant is a duet, bringing together a bal dancer, Neptune, and a bourrée dancer, Caroline, both contemporary dancers.
Driven by the drone, rhythms and melodies of the hurdy-gurdy, banjo and violin, the two dancers embark on a playful journey that emerges from the three-beat bourrée, escapes from it, and returns to it.
The raw and rhythmic music that accompanies them is performed by the trio Phonème, in which strings and voices intertwine to bring to life the centuries-old melodies of fiddle players and singers from the Massif Central.
