For several years now, the Club Travail has been exploring song as a possible catharsis for modern work. To do this, the Club improvises songs based on conversations between workers, allowing them to sublimate what is being said, seemingly out of the blue, by singing their accounts in octave. Like modern-day troubadours/trobairitz, they compose songs on the spot, drawing on the words that have just been spoken, suddenly transforming them into metaphors for reality and little celebrations of our fragile daily lives. Club Travail began these melodic experiments with 15 live radio broadcasts De près on ne voit que la peinture each time bringing together two workers, one from the "artistic sector", the other from the "world of work", to talk face to face about their working practices. In this way, we were able to bounce ideas off a midwife and a communications manager from a luxury agency, while improvising choral songs on the spot.
