Roi Myrrhe

I am first and foremost a draftsman. I like lines. I like black on white, white on black surfaces. I like architecture, geometry, mechanics of thought. Of everything I like its skeleton.
I like to build from a simple element, multiply a module to create a landscape or a creature, like bricks build a house. Each bone that I articulate to another are like stones sealed together by the cement of stories.
I am a draftsman. I like print, I like traces. That’s what brought me to the stage. The Human Brush device: a camera films me from above, the audience has its back to me, a screen faces me and displays the memory of my movements, the traces of my trajectory. The music makes me live from within, the silence extends it. My body and my head are fully involved. What is left of this show if I am not there to embody it? Of this performance arriving on stage like a UFO, only the camera, the screen and the audience will remain. What is left of a work if the author is removed? All that is left here are the stages and a device we know so well, we can no longer see it: the mirror. The image of oneself. The filmed image, the photo, the live broadcast. The image of ourselves as an intermediary between us and others, between us and ourselves.

Jean-François Roversi and Laura Ughetto propose a series of workshops around this question. From the outcomes of these workshops and together with the participants, Vincent Glowinski will recreate a show/performance. These workshops, situated somewhere between performing and visual arts, aim to reflect on the omnipresence of images and the relationship of addiction that we seem to have with them. Selfies, stories, permanent self-tales through social networks testify to what can be read as a possible narcissistic shift that we intend to address.
Collective paintings will illustrate the weight in our lives, sometimes the feeling of ridicule or absurdity that it can inspire. The participants will be led to film and be filmed, to play with their image, to detach themselves from it. The images from the cameras on set will be projected live. Possible visual effects will be exploited to create multitude or confusion, to modify the temporal course of the action.
