The collective addresses the subject of attention within social institutions where people experiencing mental, social, and/or physical vulnerability live, through a series of workshops leading to the "Assigned Tower" writing setup. What determines modes of attention? How do they manifest? How can we translate their combinations?
Starting from work on the body, voice, investigation, collage, and field recording, we invent hybrid narrative forms that reveal different dimensions of the context.
In the workshops, we activate the "Title Tower," a rudimentary teleportation tool using walkie-talkies circulating in the space and a text editor. The exchanged information is projected as text onto a surface within the venue. Comments, interactions, movements, and descriptions of fictional or factual data appear in the projected document, materializing the dialogue between the environment and participants, while changes in rhythm, pauses, typos, and text sizes reflect the processes of transmitting and receiving information.
