Martine, a farmer for fifty years, works hard with no leisure and no rest. One day, while driving her tractor, she hears a philosophy programme on the radio that will have a profound effect on her. This is the beginning of a journey of emancipation that, thanks to reading, will lead her to change her life.
Mode majeur de la fugue is a portrait of this farmer, her unexpected emancipation and her raw sensitivity.
It’s a hybrid between sound installation and theatrical performance, in which a live pianist interacts with recorded sounds and a documentary voice.
The work has been created and recreated in several forms, ranging from a 20-minute version to a 50-minute version that can be adapted in situ to the performance space.
The audience is invited to enjoy an intimate acoustic experience.
