Passion for fear is a work in progress, conceived as the second part of a diptych following on from Hello world.
Passion 4 fear is a performative solo work, both on stage and online, exploring conspiracy narratives and their existence as a consequence of a politics structured around fear. Performed at full scale and drawing on the aesthetics of a desktop documentary, Passion 4 fear invites the audience to move their cursor in order to demystify these narratives and update their operating system of reality.
The raw material for this piece stems from Maxime Arnould’s participation in conspiracy networks, which they have “infiltrated”, observed, and archived since 2021. With Passion 4 fear, Maxime dives into their personal memories of the internet and reflects on the spread of 2.0 conspiracy narratives within the society in which they grew up and in which we live today.
